It does everything the original did and more. If you're still not sure, think about it like this: how does Robocop 2 as a sequel compare to your typical sequel/reboot nowadays? Consider it doesn't harm the lore but expands upon it, and doesn't have political ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or pandering in it. Both are classics and I always watch both. And I prefer the ending remark by Robocop in the sequel "patience Lewis, we're only human." I could say more but you get the picture. We also get to learn a little more about Murphy's past. The end of Robocop 1 we don't know much about the CEO, but given how ruthless the upper echelons of the company are, it's logical to assume the head guy would be even more corrupt, and we see that wonderfully in the sequel. I like the bad guy kid, and how he remains totally irredeemable throughout (nowadays they would try to have him turn good at the end), I love Cain and how he becomes this unstoppable antagonist, I love the darker world and the introduction of nuke which totally fits the setting, I love how they reprogram Robocop, I loved seeing their tests for new robocops, i love that we got to see more of OCP including the corruption and especially of the CEO. ![]() I'm gonna say it, in many aspects I prefer 2 over the original. ![]()
